QuickBooks Desktop Service Discontinuation Policy

QuickBooks Desktop 2021 is being discontinued. After May 31, 2024, all versions of QuickBooks 2021 will be discontinued. This includes QuickBooks Desktop Pro, QuickBooks Desktop Premier, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions v21. Other Intuit products will be affected by this discontinuation.
Customers who have not upgraded the QuickBooks Desktop 2021 by May 31, 2024 will lose access to live technical support. They will also experience issues with any other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop. This includes QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Discontinued versions won’t receive the latest critical security patches and updates.
This discontinuation means that if you remain on this version you’ll not be able to receive critical security updates to protect your data starting June 1, 2024.

  • QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2021 (General Business, Contractor, Manufacturing & Wholesale, Nonprofit, Professional Services, and Retail)
  • QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 21
  • QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2021
  • QuickBooks Enterprise Accountant 21
  • QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021

 

You can continue to use QuickBooks with support and integrated services by moving to QuickBooks Online, Enterprise, or you can purchase QuickBooks Pro Plus or Premier Plus Annual Subscription until July 31st, 2024. However, beginning August 1st, QB Plus will no longer be available for purchase. There is currently no set sunset date for the Pro and Premier Plus Subscription.
